A full-stack, decoupled website engineered for a university Software Engineering department, utilizing a Next.js 15 App Router frontend and a Node.js/Express backend driven by Sanity CMS.
Key Engineering Highlights:
Decoupled Architecture: Implements a strictly layered backend architecture (Routes → Controllers → Services → Repositories) to isolate Sanity API access and ensure each layer is independently testable.
Dynamic Content Management: Features an embedded Sanity Studio (/admin) for administrators to seamlessly manage dynamic content, including faculty profiles, course catalogs, events, and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) metrics.
Performance & Caching: Utilizes in-memory response caching (node-cache) on the backend alongside on-demand webhook revalidation on the frontend, ensuring real-time content updates without triggering full Vercel redeployments.
Security & Hardening: Secures the Express API layer using helmet, cors, and express-rate-limit to protect data endpoints and manage traffic efficiently.
